Natural levels of testosterone can vary a great deal from male to male. A study of thousands of American soldiers found that even a normal range varied by a factor of five! More importantly, those with higher than average testosterone levels had lower blood pressure, lower levels of fat, and a smaller chance of heart disease.
As you might expect, they also tended to self-rate their health as being better than those with less testosterone. This means that even a male with testosterone levels within the lower end of the “normal” range can greatly benefit from higher testosterone levels.
A lower level of testosterone can correlate with lower sex drive, fatigue, and depression, not to mention decreased muscle mass, bone strength, and density. Conversely, a higher testosterone level can help you increase muscle mass, bone strength, and density.
There are several safe and effective methods for increasing your testosterone levels. Ask our doctor as to which one is right for you.
Increasing your testosterone levels can be done safely with the help of professional and friendly medical personnel at our Scottsdale clinic.

Testosterone is often thought of by the public as a male hormone, but both men and women need appropriate testosterone levels to lead a healthy life. Some consider testosterone injections to be the most effective and efficient method for increasing testosterone levels in your body. Of course, we acknowledge that some of our clients are uncomfortable with needles. For those that prefer not to get injections, creams may provide an effective alternative method. With creams, testosterone is absorbed through the skin.
Testosterone pellets, in one form or another, have been around for more than seventy years. Inserting pellets is a relatively simple procedure that can be done in our Scottsdale clinic in the course of one appointment. A small incision in the area of the upper hip. In fact, the incision is so small that no stitches are required. The pellet itself is quite small and not much larger than, say, a grain of rice.
Testosterone plays an important role in maintaining lean muscle mass, sex drive, energy, and one’s sense of well-being in both males and females. Not having enough testosterone can leave one feeling fatigued and unhappy. Conversely, higher levels of testosterone can confer a greater sense of well-being.
Are you feeling tired, depressed, and having trouble sleeping? Would you like to gain lean muscle mass, improve your energy levels, sex-drive, and well-being? Call our clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and learn more about hormone therapy today! Our doctor will discuss with you whether injectables, creams, or pellets are right for you!
Sterile pellets are a small, cylindrical form of compounded medication prepared using bio-identical hormones. They are used to treat hormone deficiencies and imbalances in both men and women.
The pellet is only about the size of a rice grain and is implanted below the skin in the gluteal or abdominal area during a simple office procedure. The area is numbed using a local anesthetic, and a tiny incision is made through which the pellet is inserted using a trocar.
Once it is in place, a sterile strip is used to close the incision and covered with an adhesive bandage. Over the course of three to four months, the pellet slowly dissolves as the body draws small, physiologic dosages of the hormone to maintain a more consistent delivery. Once it is dissolved, the procedure is repeated, and a new pellet is inserted.
One of the benefits of pellets is that they can be used to deliver hormones to the body that are both structurally and biologically identical to the body’s own hormones. Bio-identical hormones such as estradiol (E2) and testosterone are the most commonly used ingredients. They are slowly released over a period of three to four months, allowing for more consistent delivery.
Because the pellet is placed beneath the skin, the body naturally does the rest once it is inserted. Patients do not have to remember to take a pill, apply a cream, or give an injection. They also do not have to worry about getting the pellet removed because the body safely dissolves it over time. Once it is dissolved, the next pellet can be inserted by Dr.Stowell.
Pellets have been used as a safe, effective way to provide the body with hormones necessary for the treatment of a wide variety of conditions. The doctor may prescribe sterile pellets for both men and women experiencing menopause or andropause, and with some common conditions such as:
